BAL 10 in 100 SF Kingston July 24th 2010 Report Print

Comment from the Kingston Semi-Final.

To be honest, there was not an awful lot to write home about. The weather was good,if a little breezy, the competition varied from interesting to poor, not least in the women's match but,for home supporters, there were cheers for a PB/Club Open & U20 Record by Pippa Wingate(Hammer 39.85) and a PB from Adam Omisore over 400m.

Sadly, there were only 3 on the women's team, with other considerations in mind including the final NJL match the next day. Alongside Pippa's new mark, improving her own record towards the magic 40m,Mary Iheke was a comfortable winner at 400(57.71),with Rahannah Gillette-Gordon our only other aspirant.

The men did have a full complement, which was chosen more with the following week's BAL match in mind, rather than necessarily to progress to the Cup Final.

Jordan Smith-Bent(100) and Gareth Cook(HT) both secured wins and Adam Omisore did creep closer to that sub50 mark;elsewhere,Andre Nembhard(200),Craig Price(800),Richard Mathie(3k),Maris Kuklis(110H),Bilen Ahmet(PV),Patrick Hillyer(TJ) and Mike Clarke(JT),along with Adam Bellis,Tucker Bryant(who edged the NS 100),Victor Nwagbara & Jason-Louis Bernard will mostly look to be inspired for Winchester.

Full results are on this site, but neither K&P teams progressed automatically to the Finals.
