Some crucial injuries restricted the BAL team to a lowly 7th equal at Moorways Stadium in this Round 2 Match though overall,at the halfway stage,K&P still hold a very narrow advantage in 5th place of the 8 teams, with a home match to come on July 3rd. Some improved track performances and another unholy contribution from Messrs Owen & Roberts could not keep us afloat on the day though 245 points is no mean score.

There were best ever marks from Emmanuel Olukoya(2B 200 23.2),Jamie McCullagh(2A 800 1.53.6),U17 Matt Field on his BAL debut(3= AHJ 1.75) & Humphrey Waddington thrice(110H/400H & HJ). Sterling efforts,as ever, from joint team captain Mike Maranzano(a near pb in 3kSteeple 9.46.4),James Heptonstall(LJ/TJ) and Victor Nwagbara, who has scored heavily in every match over the best part of the last few years in 100/200 & both relays. We shall pray for the safe return of a few key 'players' on July 3!! Match result - Herne Hill 301,Solent 291,Crawley 290,Norwich 289,Derby 268,Swindon 267,Bolton & K&P 245 each and after 2 of the 4 fixtures it is HH 15,Norwich 13,Crawley 12,Solent 11,K&P 6.5,Derby & Swindon 6 each & Bolton 2.5.
